Georgia Tech RB Jamal Haynes Runs Over The Heels

Jamal Haynes injury update: Georgia Tech RB out vs Miami

Haynes carried the ball 25 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-clinching 44-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Haynes' physicality and determination were on full display as he repeatedly broke tackles and powered through the Heels defense.

Georgia Tech's offense, led by quarterback Jeff Sims, was explosive throughout the game. Sims threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Nate McCollum caught five passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. The Yellow Jackets' balanced attack kept the Heels' defense off balance and allowed them to control the game.

Despite Haynes' performance, North Carolina fought back valiantly in the second half. Quarterback Drake Maye threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with Joshua Downs for 131 yards and a touchdown. However, the Heels' defense couldn't stop Haynes and the Georgia Tech offense in the end.

Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key was full of praise for Haynes after the game. "Jamal was a beast today," Key said. "He ran with incredible determination and physicality. He's a game-changer for us."

The victory was a major boost for Georgia Tech, who improved to 4-3 on the season. The Yellow Jackets are now in contention for a bowl game berth. For North Carolina, the loss was a setback, dropping them to 5-2 on the season. The Heels will have to regroup and find a way to improve defensively if they want to compete for the ACC Coastal Division title.

Georgia Tech will next host the Florida State Seminoles on October 22nd. North Carolina will travel to Virginia Tech on the same day. Both teams will be looking to build on their performances and secure important conference victories.
