Wildcats' Dynamic Duo Shines in Victory
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Cate Dell'Orso and Maya Nnaji led the charge as No. 24 Arizona Wildcats dominated Davidson 104-79 on Sunday night at McKale Center.
Dell'Orso's Scoring Outburst
Dell'Orso unloaded a career-high 31 points, shooting 11-of-19 from the field and 5-of-10 from three-point range. Her offensive efficiency was a key factor in Arizona's early lead.
"Cate was on fire tonight," said Arizona coach Adia Barnes. "She hit some tough shots and got us going."
Nnaji's Inside Dominance
Nnaji's presence in the paint was equally impactful for Arizona. She recorded 28 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks, controlling the game inside.
"Maya was a force on both ends of the floor," added Barnes. "She made it difficult for Davidson to score."
Wildcats' Strong Start
The Wildcats jumped out to an early advantage and never looked back. They led 26-12 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 52-34 at halftime.
Balanced Attack
In addition to Dell'Orso and Nnaji, three other Wildcats scored in double figures: Helena Pueyo (13), Shaina Pellington (12), and Jade Loville (11).
Outlook for Arizona
With the victory, Arizona improves to 15-3 overall and 5-1 in Pac-12 play. They will face No. 1 Stanford on Thursday in a highly anticipated matchup.
